DeLozier Robbins Skin Care: Frequently Asked Questions - Nashville, Tennessee
How often should I get a facial?
You should get a facial once a month to remove dead skin cells, extract impurities and to freshen up the overall appearance of the skin. Getting regular monthly facials keeps any further breakouts under control and fine lines to a minimum.
What products should I use?
A basic regimen starts with a cleanser, toner, moisturizer, sunblock and a night cream. In general, most product lines are broken down into three basic categories of skin types: normal/combination, dry and oily. Choosing the right regimen for your skin type is essential. Having a thorough skin analysis performed by a doctor or aesthetician is also important. We have many product lines that can be prescribed for you and your unique needs. Please schedule a complimentary consultation with Graceanne or schedule a facial for a customized treatment plan. We carry Vivite, Skin Medica, Image, NuCelle, Biomedic and LaRoche Posay.
How can I reduce uneven pigmentation on my face?
Fraxel® laser treatments are FDA approved to improve uneven pigmentation on the face due to aging and sun damage. Fraxel® is a laser treatment performed in the office and is the gold standard for treating sun damage, melasma, actinic keratoses and other pigmented lesions. IPL treatments are also helpful in improving sun damage as well as redness and broken capillaries. At home skincare regimens that include a blend of Retin-A, Kojic acid and Hydroquinone are a good start. We carry both in a cream form or prescription nightly pads. Treatments such as microdermabrasions or chemical peels can really help to stimulate collagen and elastin creating lighter and brighter skin. Use a broad-spectrum sunblock every morning with an SPF of at least 15.
What is Latisse? Latisse® is an FDA Approved prescription treatment to make eyelashes longer, thicker and darker. Call our office if you would like to start Latisse®.
What is laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal employs high amounts of heat, delivered through various wavelengths of light, to reduce the number of hair follicles in the area being treated. Since it can only destroy hair follicles in the active growth stage multiple treatments are necessary. Treatments are spaced out at 4-6 week intervals and usually reduce hair by 90% after 4-6 treatments. Laser hair reduction treatments for most people are only slightly uncomfortable, take less than an hour and have little to no downtime. Call 615-565-9000 to schedule a complimentary consultation with Graceanne Daron our licensed clinical aesthetician and laser technician.

What are IPL treatments?
Photofacials are the most common treatments done on an IPL or intense pulsed light machine. These improve redness caused by rosacea, broken capillaries, hemangiomas, cherry angiomas and broken vessels. IPL treatments can also improve sun damage and hyperpigmentation caused by aging, UV exposure and heredity. More even skin tone, improved pore size and increased collagen are the results of these treatments. Usually 3-4 treatments are necessary.

The benefits of Fraxel laser treatments are: Improved texture, tone, and pore size. Erase unwanted brown spots. Smooth acne scars and wrinkles around the eyes. Rejuvenate your neck, chest and hands.
